Original U.S. Vietnam War Protest M1951 Ridgeway Field Cap

Original Item: One-of-a-kind. The Model 1951 or M-1951 olive drab cotton field cap, informally known as a "patrol cap", Ridegway Hat or Castro Cap was used by the US Armed Forces (along with others) starting at the time of the Korean War through to the Vietnam war.
This unique example is offered in very good condition and was hand painted in bright colors for use in protesting the Vietnam war during the 1960s. The front of the hat reads CAMBODIA the top features and American flag under a tear drop shaped peace sign and the word PEACE. The reverser of the cap reads:

Hat is approximately a size 58cm US 7 1/4. This is a true piece of Americana that represents one of the most difficult social times in United States history.
