  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent original Vietnam War-era RPG-2 / B-40 pattern anti-tank projectile retained as a U.S. bringback and later used as an EOD recognition sample. The RPG-2 was a Soviet-designed, shoulder-fired recoilless anti-tank weapon whose Vietnamese service designation was B-40, and weapons of this family were widely used by North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces during the war.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are NOT considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is totally inert. NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

This example retains its original green paint with a white band painted around the body. There are some painted Russian characters above the band but they are now scratched out. Opposite this are Russian characters stamped into the metal, 2ZKOLNY or something similar. Unscrewing the head shows some internal markings inside.

The round measures roughly 19 1/2” long and retains its tail fin assembly, with all six original fins retained, with stamped markings on the bottom.

The shaft is unscrewable from the head, but the upper head is no longer unscrewable from the lower head, likely because the U.S. EOD filled the interior for use as a recognition model. This is a fantastic bring-back item, only the second of its kind we have offered.

The combination of the Vietnam War bringback provenance, RPG-2/B-40 configuration, original green finish, white identification band, six-fin tail assembly, surviving foreign markings, and subsequent EOD recognition use makes this a particularly interesting ordnance study piece. Its layered history as both a captured enemy munition and a later instructional sample gives it considerably more context than a loose inert projectile without provenance.
