Original Item: One-of-a-kind. The Việt Cộng also known as the National Liberation Front, was a mass political organization in South Vietnam and Cambodia with its own army – the People's Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam (PLAF) – that fought against the United States and South Vietnamese governments during the Vietnam War, eventually emerging on the winning side. It had both guerrilla and regular army units, as well as a network of cadres who organized peasants in the territory it controlled. Many soldiers were recruited in South Vietnam, but others were attached to the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN), the regular North Vietnamese army.
This is a great North Vietnamese uniform set consisting of a shirt and pants, perfect for a mannequin display.
The set includes the shirt with two breast pockets, though one misses the button. The front closure is missing two buttons, and there are white stitches on the collar where insignia once was. There are loops on both shoulders for shoulder boards. There is a faint circular stamp under the collar which likely has the size.
The pants are in similar condition with a four-button front closure with all buttons retained. There is another ovular stamp on the interior but it is too worn to discern.
This is a very attractive set, ready for further research and display.
