Original item: Only One Available. Unissued U.S. Military Issue Hard Hat Diving Lightweight Wetsuit. This suit is in impeccable condition, still wrapped in original waxed packing paper and packed in its original cardboard box, as issued. Box is stamped with designation. Defense Supply Agency (DSA) Code with March, 1969 date. Rubber is still in good, soft, pliable condition! Included with the lot is one brass-weighted Diver’s boot. Boot is marked “DESCO” on the front toe of the boot.
Often used by Military Salvage Divers of all branches, this is part of the incredibly iconic Deep Sea Diver setup we are all familiar with from the movies. Not much changed with the gear, and, without the date on the packing box of the suit, it would have been very hard to tell if this suit dated from the 1920s to the 1960s. That is simply how little this gear changed over the decades! This would make for a perfect Hard Hat Diver Display. Perfect for the military or nautical enthusiast alike!
