  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely photo album measuring 6 ½ x 9” with a graphic on the front denoting it as a Vietnamese souvenir. There are 47 photographs total, most of which are taken at the Mekong Delta Riverine. The Mekong Delta riverine environment was a critical strategic theater during the Vietnam War (roughly 1965–1971), defined by over 15,000 miles of waterways, dense jungle, and constant, close-quarters combat. It was the center of operations for the U.S. Navy’s "Brown Water Navy" and the joint Army-Navy Mobile Riverine Force (MRF), which was established to deny the Viet Cong (VC) control over the region’s vital rice production and supply lines.

The album has photos, many of which are dated around 1967, showing military vehicles and equipment being loaded or unloaded from ships, some color photos of Vietnamese civilians, photos from ships and of sips, one named LCU-1551, a Landing Craft Utility vessel. One photo is labeled LCU-1544 Blue Beach, Qui Nhon, Vietnam.
