Original Item. Only One Available. The M48 grenade is a special-purpose, burning type munition used for training. This grenade is a non-lethal type munition that contains a red smoke mixture. The M48 grenade consists of rubber body assembly, an XM227E1 fuze, and a filling of RS red smoke mixture. The grenade weighs 390 grams (approximately 1 lb), and is 3-1/2 inches in diameter. The grey grenade body is made of two rubber hemispheres vulcanized together. The top half of the grenade contains the fuze, and the bottom half of the grenade contains the filling hole and the exhaust port. The grenade is filled with approximately 165 grams of RS mixture. Like all deactivated ordnance, this grenade is Not Available for Export.

There is a partial hole in the side with red coloration around it, so this was likely part of the demilling process. This is the second example we’ve had with the original spoon, very rare to find.
