Original Items. Only One Lot of 3 Available. The M7 bayonet (NSN 1095-00-017-9701) is a bayonet that was used by the U.S. military for the M16 rifle, it can also be used with the M4 carbine as well as many other assault rifles, carbines and combat shotguns. It can be used as a fighting knife and utility tool. It was introduced in 1964, when the M16 rifle entered service during the Vietnam War.
This is a great lot of three M7 bayonets by different makers. They include:
- M4 Camillus blade in M7 bayonet mount. Comes in M10 marked plastic scabbard with thong. Good functional securing strap and snap.
- M7 Bayonet by MILPAR with USM8A1 scabbard by TWB for the Philadelphia Home for Working Blind. The "TWB" marking was used 1969-1970 to represent the Working Home's corporate name, The Working Blind, Inc.
- M7 bayonet marked FZR for Fraser, a rare contractor of these bayonets. Comes in M8A1 scabbard by WD for Wilson-Duggar Co., Inc. of Jasper, AL. Wilson-Duggar Co’s. contract immediately followed Viz Manufacturing Co’s. 1962 contract, the existence of which was revealed last summer by Boyd’s (Slufstuff) discovery of sealed 1963-dated packages containing new Viz Manufacturing Co. scabbards. Wilson-Duggar Co. produced scabbards in 1964, possibly into 1965. The identity of Wilson-Duggar Co. as producer of M8A1 scabbards has been substantiated in both government and newspaper reports of the period.
An outstanding lot of bayonets, ready for display!
