The M7 bayonet (NSN 1095-00-017-9701) is a bayonet that was used by the U.S. military for the M16 rifle, it can also be used with the M4 carbine as well as many other assault rifles, carbines and combat shotguns. It can be used as a fighting knife and utility tool. It was introduced in 1964, when the M16 rifle entered service during the Vietnam War.
This is a great lot of three M7 bayonets by different makers. They include:
- M4 BOC. blade in M7 bayonet mount. Comes in USM8A1 marked plastic scabbard with thong. Good functional securing strap and snap. Thong included.
- M7 Bayonet by ONTARIO with USM8A1 scabbard not marked for a maker. Thong included.
- M4 GENCUT blade in M7 bayonet mount. Comes in M8A1 marked plastic scabbard by TWB for the Philadelphia Home for Working Blind. The "TWB" marking was used 1969-1970 to represent the Working Home's corporate name, The Working Blind, Inc. Thong included.
