Original Item. Only One Available. This is an original Soviet POMZ-pattern anti-personnel fragmentation stake mine, completely inert and presented with a later wooden stake added for display. The POMZ family became one of the most recognizable Soviet anti-personnel mine designs of the WWII and Cold War periods, with the original POMZ followed by the POMZ-2 and improved postwar POMZ-2M. Soviet examples and foreign-produced copies saw widespread use in conflicts including the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
This is a good example with a wooden stick added for display to give the mine its original context. The end of the mine is stamped 1C. The display with the mine measures 12½” long.
The POMZ family represents one of the simplest and most enduring Soviet fragmentation-mine concepts of the 20th century. Its heavy segmented cast-iron body, stake-mounted configuration, and widespread Cold War distribution made it a familiar piece of Soviet and Soviet-supplied ordnance in conflicts across Europe and Asia.
The combination of the original cast-iron POMZ-pattern mine body, stamped 1C marking, Vietnam War-era association, and added wooden display stake makes this an interesting Cold War ordnance display. The later wooden stake provides the correct visual context while remaining clearly distinguished from the original mine body.
