Original Items: Only One Lot Available. This is a lovely little grouping of mixed items dating from the Pre to Vietnam War era. The lot features an array of novelty/gag items which would not be suitable for the younger eyes, so display at you’re on discreon. These novelty items were proudly displayed by the various disgruntled military personnel operating in the Southeast Asia region during the war.
Notable items in this lot:
- Zippo style lighter by Arlo of Japan With Explicit Lucy (Charlie Brown) Gesture: These Arlo brand lighters of Japanese origin were very popular amongst the troops serving overseas. The popularity and ingenious zippo “windproof” lighters opened the market for other companies to start making their own versions. This example was most likely picked up by a soldier while on “R&R” in the Philippines or other popular spot. The lighter itself was never used and is still paired with the original box as well as retains the original plastic wrapping “molded” to the lighter.
- Snoopy “F-It” Zippo Badge. This small square piece most likely fell off of a lighter or was purchased separately to be affixed to whatever was desired. It is in good condition retaining much of the original enamel and colors.
- “Bush Pilot” Wings: these wings are of Japanese or Vietnamese origin and appear to be period original. There are not crude casting marks so it most likely was produced in a better environment such as Japan. The wings are clutch back and retains both of the pin attachments. Presented without any extensive damage.
This is a lovely small lot of items perfect for the Vietnam War collectors. Comes more than ready for further research and display.
