Original Item: Only One Available. This is genuine U.S. Government issue 24 Hours clock, made by the Chelsea Clock Co. of Boston, Mass. It has a 12 jewel, 8 day Chelsea 12E movement with a 11 jewel detachable lever escapement, sweep second hand. Fully wound these should tick for 8 days. It is mounted in a dust proof and moisture proof black plastic case with a 6" dial. It features a an hour, minute and second hand. The time is set by moving the hands forward with your finger. You should not move them backward as that will damage the movement. This example comes mounted in its original case which is nearly identical to the case of the WWII Era Army Chelsea Message Center M2.

The case when closed measures 9 12 x 5 ½ x The clock face measures roughly 6 inches in diameter. The case is in fair shape but appears to be separating on one side as shown, so this side may require some gluing at one point.
The US Army, Navy and Air Force used these clocks from WW2 to the Vietnam War and were used in the field to mark the time when a message was received. This example is absolutely from the Vietnam War period and comes with its original key, fully functional. Would make a perfect clock for your desk at work or at home!
