Original Item: Only one available. This is a very nice U.S. Air Force Three Star Lieutenant General's Military vehicle identification pennant for use on a vehicle. The pennant is rectangular and made with a long metal pole for attachment.
The pennant measures 9½ x 6” and is in good service-worn condition. There is some staining to the stars but overall it’s a good example.
Pennants such as this were for use on military vehicles, usually a Jeep or other small vehicle, to indicate that it was carrying a "flag officer", which was an army officer of high enough rank to fly a flag from the location of their command. In this case, the pennant represents the "flag" while the officer was in the vehicle, which would have a holder attached to the fender. When the officer left the vehicle, the pennant would then be removed and placed in a carrier.
