This mortar round cannot be converted to an explosive devise and is not available for export.The M83 Illuminating Cartridge (ILL) was a pyrotechnic parachute flare shell used in night missions requiring illumination for assistance in observation. This is a nice Vietnam War 1973 dated example designed for use with the U.S. 60mm M2 Mortar. It features the correct FUZE TIME M65A1 dated 4-73.This example is offered in very good condition, with original markings stamped onto the body, with the original white paint well-retained. Measures approximately 14 1/2 inches in length. The original husk is in great shape and displays great with the round.A great chance to pick up a scarce Vietnam War deactivated mortar shell!
