  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine Vietnam War issue M1 Helmet liner in great service-worn condition. The most notable aspect is the original period white & red band around the circumference and white MP attached to the front with 572 decaled to one side and a DI to the other side. MP stands for Military Police and 572 was the company. MPs often were behind the front lines stationed at Headquarters and routinely didn't wear the heavy steel exterior shells as they were typically on their feet for various duties including guard duty at the guardhouse or stockade.

The liner’s MP decor, including the white band, decal, numbers, and MP, isn’t paint, but actually cut decals, a very interesting design choice!

The Vietnam era suspension is in good shape as are the decals. There is a wire attached to one post, for hanging the liner on the wall.

The DI on the side is for the 572nd Military Police Company, stationed at Fort Ritchie, Maryland. We couldn’t find much on this unit, making for a great research project.
