  • Original Item: Only One Available. Original Item: Only One Available. Now this is a beauty! A lovely, issued “Rifle Green” Special Forces beret. This example shows signs of honest wear and use and is present without any extensive damage. The most interesting feature of the beret is the fact that it does not have a flash present on the front. Not having a flash on the front would indicate that the original owner of this beret was never assigned to a specific group.

The enamel pin on the flash features the intersecting dagger representing the V-42 dagger issued to each member of the force. The encircling scroll which arches at the base bears the Special Forces motto, "DE OPPRESSO LIBER" which is translated from Latin as "To Free the Oppressed.”

The beret is in wonderful condition and does show signs of wear, but no abuse and presents itself quite nicely. The markings present are:

    BERET, MAN’S, WOOL
    RIFLE GREEN
    DSA-100-73-C-1325
    8405-082-5651
    100% VIRGIN WOOL
    EXCEPT LINING, SWEATBAND,
    AND DRAWCORD
    7 ⅜

A lovely beret that comes more than ready for further research and display.
