Original U.S. Vietnam War 1962 Dated Camouflage Painted HGU-2A/P Flight Helmet With MBU-5/P Oxygen Mask - Sierra Engineering Co, Size Medium

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. The Type HGU-2A/P protective flying helmet was standard issue for U.S. Air Force flight crews during the early 1960s. First issued in 1961, the HGU-2A/P was an improved version of the HGU-2/P by the addition of ventilation holes, extra padding, and the H-154/AIC headset.

This example is in fantastic condition with a great camouflage paint scheme. The helmet retains the original tinted visor with locking wheel at the top. From the appearance of the helmet, we do believe it to be complete aside from missing a ear pad. The label has been retained and has a 1962 date and is offered in a size medium by the Sierra Engineering Company. The oxygen mask is an MBU-5/P type and is in wonderful, almost unused condition.

A fantastic pair of items ready for further research and display.
