Original U.S. Revolutionary War Era Military Crank Handle Coffee Roaster with Hinged Lid - c. 1776-1783

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice U.S. Revolutionary War Era (1776 - 1783) military "coffee roaster", used to roast the beans for use in the field. It is of iron construction with a hinged lid with access to the interior, revealing rotating blades activated from a winding handle protruding from outside the roaster itself.
It still retains its forged 12 1/2 inch long iron arm to allow a distance from the soldier to the fire. This arm appears to be marked "24th" or "26th" (regiment), but unfortunately it is not clear. It measures just over 20 inches in overall length, with the "pan" portion being 8 1/2 inches in diameter.
An interesting part of colonial living not seen today in this form. Ready to display!
