Original Items. One-of-a-Kind. This is an extremely scarce set of insignia for Auxiliary Military Police dating pre-World War I, likely the 1890s or 1900s. Anything Military Police before World War I is extremely scarce to find, making this matching set extremely rare. Note that both the badge and cap insignia have the number 32.
The badge is brass with a likely zinc center reading:
AUXILIARY MILITARY
POLICE
U.S.
32
The badge is a pinback and measures 2⅜ x 1½”. The second example is completely zinc construction and is meant for a Police cap. It reads:
AUXILIARY
MILITARY
32
POLICE
U.S.
This example is a screwback and retains its original washer. It has a pin on the back to better affix itself to the cap. It measures 2⅝ x 1⅝”. With enough research, these could possibly be identified to an area.
This is an extremely scarce set of Military Police insignia, the earliest military police pieces we have ever offered. They come ready for further research and display!
