Original U.S. Police Visor Cap Set - Formerly Part the Tower of London Yeoman Warders Club Collection - 5 Items

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Lot of 5 Available. IMA recently acquired a collection of headgear from the Yeoman Warders (aka “Beefeaters”) Club located at the Tower of London. The club has a strict policy of allowing only members of the Yeoman Warders and their guests entry. It has become a tradition over the years for visiting guests with any current or prior military or police service to leave one of their pieces of headgear. Over the years this collection has grown too large, leaving the Warders to liquidate the collection to IMA, making this a truly exclusive offering!

The Visor Hats Included it this Lot are:

- State of Florida Police: The visor is a Medium size of 7 ¼ to 7 ⅛. The visor is in lovely condition and is free of damage.

- Los Angeles Police Department Investigator: The visor is roughly a size 7 ⅝ and is in lovely condition. The visor belonged to Investigator Alan W. Siemens. His business card is tucked inside the lining of the visor and has his badge number present. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officially known as the City of Los Angeles Police Department, is the municipal police department of Los Angeles, California. With 9,974 police officers and 3,000 civilian staff, it is the third-largest municipal police department in the United States, after the New York City Police Department and the Chicago Police Department.

- San Francisco Police Department: The visor is a size 7 ½ and offered in lovely condition. There is a business card tucked inside indicating that this belonged to Police Lieutenant James N. Speros. He worked overseas in a variety of police reform and leadership positions and completed a post in Ukraine after 7 years last May.

- New York City Police Department Senior Officer: The visor is now obsolete and we believe to be from the 1960’s / 1970’s. It is offered in great condition and at a size 7 ¼. The New York City Police Department (NYPD), officially the City of New York Police Department, is the primary municipal law enforcement agency within the City of New York, United States. Established on May 23, 1845, the NYPD is the largest and one of the oldest police departments in the United States. The NYPD headquarters is at 1 Police Plaza, located on Park Row in Lower Manhattan near City Hall. The NYPD's regulations are compiled in title 38 of the New York City Rules. The NYC Transit Police and NYC Housing Authority Police Department were fully integrated into the NYPD in 1995. Dedicated units of the NYPD include the Emergency Service Unit, K9, harbor patrol, air support, bomb squad, counter-terrorism, criminal intelligence, anti-organized crime, narcotics, public transportation, and public housing units.

- Seattle Police Department: The visor we believe to be for SPD from the “Excelsior” badge on the front and dating back to the 1970’s. The visor is a size 7 ⅛ and offered in excellent condition. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is the principal law enforcement agency of the city of Seattle, Washington, United States, except for the campus of the University of Washington, which is under the responsibility of its own police department. The SPD is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

Law enforcement in Seattle began with the election of John T. Jordan as town marshal in 1870. The SPD was officially organized on June 2, 1869. Today it has a number of specialty units including SWAT, bike patrol, harbor patrol, motorcycles, mounted patrols, and a variety of detective units; it had a staff of around 1,800 as of 2011. Fifty-eight officers have died in the line of duty since the SPD's establishment.
