  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a vey worn M1902 Campaign hat identified to John H. Wagner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The campaign hat bears a yellow hat cord indicating use by Cavalry. The hat is heavily mother with damage across the exterior and interior. The M1902 campaign hat is noted for its two rows of stitching and star-shaped vents on both sides.

The sweatband of the hat is very well-retained, and is perforated with the initials JHW. This combined with the note of provenance names this hat to John H. Wagner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The sweatband is still stitched on in a couple of places but it is mostly torn away. It is marked with the Size 7⅛.

The cavalry cord is in similarly worn shape with one of the knots void of its yellow. A very worn example but one ripe for research! This is a very difficult model of campaign hat to find in any condition.

Comes ready for further research and display!
