Original U.S. Percussion Trade Rifle with Octagonal Barrel circa 1830 - 1840

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a Trade Rifle built by a U.S. Country Gunsmith in the 1830's or 1840's. It has an octagonal 7 groove rifled barrel of about .39 bore. It is half stocked and has brass mounts. Built on the lines of a Pennsylvania Rifle often referred to as a Kentucky Rifle with a stock that is almost full length, with a brass plate nose cap.

Comes complete with wood ramrod, Trade Lock shows pitting under which there appears to be some engraved decoration but no Maker's name can be determined. In nice condition, cleaned after being in storage for many many years and now ready to display.
