Original U.S. Pennsylvania Long Rifle made with Named British Percussion Trade Lock - circa 1840

Item Description

Original Item. Only One Available. This comes from our big Storage purchase, a really nice Pennsylvania Long Rifle, with a very substantial heavily rifled barrel about .39 bore/caliber. Comes with set trigger and is constructed in a full length to the muzzle tiger stripped wood stock, probably of the readily available maple from the area.

The rifle features all brass mounts of butt plate, trigger guard, side plate, three ramrod pipes and the nose cap. The Barrel is octagonal, very heavy and measures 37" in length, with heavily cut 8 groove rifling. The rifle measures 54" overall. We gave it a cursory cleaning, but it could use a thorough job to bring into its full glory. It is equipped with a very nice "set trigger" mechanism, though it needs adjustment, and the action currently does not function correctly.

The percussion "trade" lock is signed:

Henry Parker
Warranted

The Parker family, of BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND were very famous gun makers in the 19th Century.

A truly nice Frontier Long Rifle with a beautiful stock, Circa 1840. Ready to clean and display!
