  • Original Item: Only One Available. This just came out of the attic after a hundred years of storage, together with a couple of hundred other guns. This is a fine half stocked Pennsylvania style Plain's rifle in about .59 Caliber. It is fitted with a "set trigger" and the trade lock is marked G.GOULCHER who worked in Darlaston in Staffordshire from 1830 until 1872, with his son taking over in 1864.

The wood stock is walnut with brass mounts of trigger guard and butt plate. The back action lock is engraved with a game scene. This large bore Rifle was intended for use on the Frontier as a plain's Buffalo Rifle. The heavy octagonal steel barrel measures 27 1/2", with total of 42 1/2" in overall length. This is a typical Frontier Rifle built in the United States using a British Trade Percussion lock of the best quality. The "set trigger" works a bit differently than standard, with the rear trigger needing to be locked back before the gun is cocked, so it most likely requires adjustment.

Fully cleaned and ready to display!
