Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very nice late 1980s, early 1990s example of a Gerber BMF knife in its original nylon belt sheath. Within the sheath is the original Silva compass. The Gerber BMF (Basic Multi-Function) is a fixed blade knife produced by Gerber Legendary Blades between 1986 and the late 1990s. Designed as a sturdy and versatile survival tool, it has become a cult object among collectors and enthusiasts of military and outdoor knives. Its impressive blade, non-slip handle, and sheath with accessories make it one of the most iconic models of Gerber's production from that period.
This example is stamped on the ricasso:
BMF
047817
And on the other side:
GERBER
U.S.A.
The grip is in great shape without any rot, and the pommel cap is free of denting. The Knife measures approx 14 1/2" in total length with a 9" blade.
The original nylon belt sheath is in great shape with the original Silva compass still inside, a rarity, along with the original whetstone attached to the back, revealed by undoing the snap covering it. The front of the sheath has a Gerber label.
This is an excellent GERBER Combat knife that was popular with Troops during Operation Desert Storm. Ready for display.
