Original Item: Only One Available. This is a great example of an American 1840-1850s Fur Trade trade tomahawk. The head is in remarkable condition with a visible blacksmith’s mark. The handle appears to be the original.
This example appears to be with its original wooden handle. The handle is original and does have cracking with minor wood loss present. The head of the tomahawk is approximately 5 1/2” in length with an edge width of 3 1/4” with a handle length of 20 1/8”. There is a blacksmith marking present that reads as ‘T’ within two triangles, though we have not been able to locate solid information on this marking.
This is a beautiful example of a Fur Trade blacksmith-made tomahawk! Comes ready for further research and display.
