Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice genuine U.S. M1887 sling. It was constructed as a one piece sling - not the stitched 2 piece type - with brass double claw hook on one end and a brass stud button on the other. Comes with only 1 of the 3 keeper loops. This sling was designed for use on the Springfield Trapdoor and Krag rifles.
The middle of the sling is maker and inspector marked:

Condition of the leather is good, though the leather has darkened over time. Some surface cracking is evident, but overall functional and serviceable, with solid leather, probably the best original example we've seen in awhile. An excellent upgrade for any Springfield Trapdoor or Krag rifle!
