Original U.S. M1830 Officer's Eagle Head Pommel Sword with Scabbard

Original item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice original Eagle Headed U.S. Officer's sword from the mid 1800s. The sword is all brass mounted with an interesting plain "D" hand guard and a very nice "open mouth" Eagle pommel. The grip is carved / fluted bone, and while it does show age, we do not see any cracks or chips on it at all. The eagle's head is very well executed, with a lovely antiqued brass patina. It is however now loose on the blade, as is the crossguard.
The sword is 33.5 inches long overall, with a straight 28 inch single edged blade, with a broad fuller. No maker marks can be found on the blade.
The sword is matched with its lovely 29 inch long brass scabbard. The scabbard, which may have been plated at some point now displays a lovely aged brass patina.
A lovely sword from an early part of American History! Comes more than ready for further research and display.
