Item Description
Original Items. Only One Lot Available. During the Korean War, the US employed propaganda leaflets as part of its "psywar" strategy, aiming to influence North Korean soldiers and civilians. These leaflets, designed and dropped by US aircraft, contained messages encouraging surrender, warnings about UN air attacks, and attempts to discredit the North Korean regime.
This is a lovely lot of three of those leaflets, one of which being a very scarce “Safe Conduct Pass”. This pass, with MacArthur’s name, would allow any Korean soldier who wanted to cease fighting to surrender to UN forces. It measures 4 x 5”.
The second leaflet shows a Korean Soldier laid on the winter ground, with planes fighting in the air. It speaks about how Korean military officials tell soldiers to shoot at planes with rifles, when the planes are heavily armored and that rifle fire is basically useless. This one is also 4 x 5”.
The third leaflet shows Korean military officers beating on lower soldiers with the caption, Why do I have to endure such shameful humiliation? The other side encourages them to surrender to UN forces. 5¼ x 7½”.
A great lot of leaflets, ready for further research and display.
