  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very good original U.S. early Cold War Pilot’s Survival Knife, dating to the Korean War period and attributed to the Imperial Knife Company based on its construction and spacer configuration. The knife retains its original leather sheath and shows substantial service wear, giving it the appearance of a genuinely used piece rather than an unissued example.

The knife retains little of the finish on the 5” blade, with a few minor nicks along the edge. The stacked leather grip shows cracking and wear to both sides with one large area of cracking as shown. The original leather sheath is in fair supple condition with the securing strap intact and functional, but there is heavy crazing across its length.

The combination of the 5-inch blade, stacked leather grip with hard end spacers, likely Imperial manufacture, original leather sheath, extensive blade finish loss, edge nicks, and heavily service-worn grip and scabbard makes this a strong representative example of the first standardized U.S. military Pilot’s Survival Knife. Its honest wear and complete sheath give it particular value as an early Cold War aircrew survival artifact.

    Specifications:
    Blade Length: 5”
    Overall length: 9 5/8“
    Scabbard: 10⅜” with belt loop
