Original U.S. Korean War Garand Rifle M5 Bayonet by Aerial with German M8A1 Scabbard

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Genuine Korean War Era U.S. Army M1 Garand Rifle bayonet and fighting knife with original M8A1 scabbard. Nicely marked U.S. M5 / AERIAL on the blade side of the cross guard. This was Aerial Cutlery Company of Marinette, Wisconsin. This company had manufactured M4 bayonets with leather handles during WWII, and then made the M5 concurrently with M6 bayonets for the M14 rifle. All of these used the same basic blade design, with different grips and attaching hardware.

Very good condition clean blade with an arsenal redone phosphate finish. It does show light wear under the finish, but has not been used at all since it was refurbished at arsenal. Grips are the Korean War era black phenolic type, and they are in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips, just a bit of wear from the scabbard strap.

Comes with an OD green scabbard marked U.S. M8A1 / GERMANY also in offered in very good condition. This later design features a hard plastic body, not thermoplastic impregnated cotton fabric, with a dark OD green canvas frog. The scabbard shows very little wear, and is fully functional.

The perfect accessory for any Korean War issue M1 Garand Rifle.
