Original U.S. Korean War Era M4 Bayonet by TMN for M1 Carbine with M8A1 Scabbard

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Genuine Korean War Era U.S. Army M4 Carbine bayonet fighting knife with original M8A1 scabbard. This knife-style bayonet was based on the M3 fighting knife, and was introduced in 1944. This example is nicely marked U.S. M4 / TMN • on the blade side of the cross guard. This was manufactured by Turner Manufacturing Company of of Statesville, North Carolina. They had received the first Korean War contract for 298,691 bayonets in 1954. It is believed that the blades for this production run were supplied by Camillus.

Very good condition blade with most of the original phosphate finish. There is some oxidation near the tip and edge, but there has been no post-arsenal sharpening that we can see. Blade shows minor in and out wear and finish loss from cleaning. Grips are the Korean War era black phenolic type, and they are in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips, just a bit of wear from the scabbard strap.

Comes with an OD green fiber scabbard marked U.S. M8A1 / V.P. CO also in offered in very good condition. This design features a fiberglass body, metal throat, and canvas frog and securing strap with a steel pistol belt hook. It was manufactured by Victory Plastics, whose stylized V P logo is also on the back of the scabbard body. The canvas is in great shape, as are the metal fittings and snap though there is wear to the finish on the brass.

The perfect accessory for any Korean War issue M1 Carbine.
