  • Original Item. Only One available. This just came out of the attic after a hundred years of storage, together with a couple of hundred other guns. This is a classic
style "Kentucky" Rifle Musket, with brass mounts including hooked butt plate, and exotic trigger guard. It is signed on the lock plate by LANE & REED / BOSTON, who worked from 1826 until 1849.

The fore end wood in front of the regular half stock appears to have been added to mount the iron ramrod. It has a very heavy 34 1/2" barrel with very thick walls of perhaps 3/16th of an inch enclose a bore of about .66", which would make this around a 16 gauge shotgun. It was probably once a small caliber rifle barrel before being smooth bored. Rear Sight appears to have been removed.

    Most decorative, ready to display!
