  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is one of the scarcest pieces of Indian War field gear we have offered. This is an outstanding example of the M1874 Haversack. The material of this example is very thin which makes it a very early Indian Wars example.

Under the front flap is marked:

    U.S.
    WATERVLIET ARSENAL

The interior pocket retains a large Federal eagle button marked to Scovill Mfg. Co. of Waterbury. The integral shoulder strap is in great shape with a retained buckle. There are buckles on the backs of both sides of the strap, and another sideways strap on the very bottom.

This is an extremely scarce early example of a rare haversack from the Indian Wars, ready for further research and display!
