Original Item: Only One Available. U.S. Cavalry M-1885 "Trapdoor Springfield" Carbine Boot Scabbard designed to be attached to the McClellan saddle. Intended to secure the Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield or .50-70 Sharps Carbine within close reach of the rider.
This Model 1885 scabbard is nicely marked Rock Island Arsenal. Overall condition is very good for the age. Manufactured in the mid -1880s through the 1890s.
