Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a great framed set of relics which were likely ground-dug during the 1950s & 1960s, as many of them are marked with a white circle and numbered with the pretext G, numbers 84-100. There are 31 total pieces mounted in the frame, which measures 11 x 14” and is 2” deep. Like all deactivated ordnance, this set is Not Available for Export.
Items include a pair of Cavalry spurs, one missing the wheel, several spent cartridge casings, four intact but inert cartridges, a buckle, a part of a knife with a wooden handle, three U.S. uniform buttons of varying size, and some nails. The pieces all appear to date to the Indian Wars era, or the 1870s & 1880s. Some of the casings have headstamps including dates of 1878 and 1887, and the intact casings appear to be for the Trapdoor Springfield Rifle or something similar.
A great framed lot of relics, ready for further research and display.
