- Original Item: Only One Available. "Chapeau De Bras" folding bicorn beaver fur chapeau with original ostrich feathers. Features gilt cockade with gilt wire bullion embroidered spread wing eagle and Eagle "C" Cavalry button. Interior with cream colored silk lining and leather sweatband. Front and back complete with heavy gilt wire fringe (gilt has faded). Fantastic gold maker name which reads: JH McKinney & Co. Military Goods, New York. This company was a subsidiary of Ridabock and was in business until 1872. Original size label still attached reads 7 1/8. This is a fantastic military hat that was produced by a known military goods manufacturer directly after the Civil War. Overall condition is very good.
