Original U.S. Indian and Spanish American Wars M1878 Canteen

Original Item: Only One Available. US M1878 Canteen with a tan canvas cover in good condition. There is a marking on the neck of the canteen, however there has been rust damage to the neck, so it is illegible.
The canteen is complete with its original cork stopper secured a ring around the neck by a chain. The cork itself is shrunken and somewhat worn, but mostly intact. The leather shoulder strap is unfortunately missing, however one of the clips is still attached to the triangular side bales.
The body seems pretty much undented, however the cover definitely shows much age and use, with a lot of staining and dirt. A great chance to pick up a good example of this iconic canteen.
