Original Items: Only One Lot of 5 Available. Formerly known as a trench knife, the "combat knife" was used by both sides on the Western front during World War I. Since then, combat knives have been issued by the armies of many nations. Though they differ in detail, they all share the common characteristic of being purposely designed for military use, with their primary role as a close-quarters combat weapon.

German
- Heer Army 98k Long Dress Bayonet by Eickhorn (Unissued): This is a fantastic unissued condition example of a WWII German dress bayonet by the desirable maker Carl Eickhorn, a legendary edged weapon producer from Solingen, the City of Blades in Western Germany. Almost all of the original plating is retained and has a lovely polished look. The scabbard is undamaged with minor wear and color loss.

- Kriegsmarine Navy Anchor Marked Fighting Knife: This is a strange one for sure. It has the appearance of the widely popular fighting/boot knife as produced by Puma and other firms, but this one has no maker’s marks present on the ricasso. The crossguard is made of machined brass instead of steel and the top of it is marked with an Anchor and a 59.

- Navy USN Mark 1 RH Pal-35 Fighting Knife: While PAL was originally a manufacturer of pocketknives, after the Remington acquisition they expanded their range of products to include a variety of fixed blade knives as well. PAL received a number of US government knife contracts during World War II and produced thousands of combat knives during the war years. This particular example was manufactured by the PAL Cutlery Company and is clearly marked on the blades ricasso: RH (PAL) -35 / MADE IN USA on one side and U.S.N / MARK 1 on the other side. The condition is good but shows signs of use. As with most stacked leather grips there is shrinkage present causing the crossguard to have a slight wobble in it.

- Cattaraugus 225Q Commando Fighting Knife: The United States formed the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II under the Medal of Honor recipient William J. Donovan. This organization was the predecessor of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and was responsible for both intelligence and Special Forces missions. The CIA's elite Special Activities Division is the direct descendant of the OSS. In mid-1942, the United States formed the Rangers. The United States and Canada also formed a sabotage ski brigade for operations in Norway who became known as the Devil's Brigade, officially known as the First Special Service Force, during their eventual service in Italy. Merrill's Marauders were modeled on the Chindits and took part in similar operations in Burma. These specialized troops required specialized knives to do the job.

Manufactured by Cattaraugus. The model 225q was designed for use by the US special forces. With a very stout blade measuring approximately 6 inches, handle comprised of stacked leather washers with a checkered steel pommel. Shows signs of extensive use but does not appear to have significant damage.

- US Navy Theatre Made Knife: These knives are a form of Trench Art made or modified by combatants or others within a Theatre of Operation during War. Issued knives like the USN MK1 up to the M3 fighting knife during World War II had stacked leather handles, the weather of the tropic south pacific rotted the handles so they needed to be replaced, so it was a common thing to do. Most theatre made knives use already existing blades, but they were also make from salvaged scraps of metal from aircraft parts, ship parts or vehicles. This example does not appear to have been made from an already existing blade and appears to have been made aboard a Naval ship. The handle is composed of stacked aluminum and plexiglass. The crossguard and pommel are both aluminum and appears to be in the shape of a fish, hence why this is being referred to as a Navy knife. The condition is excellent and definitely unique.
