Original Items: Only Ones Available. This is an evocative assortment of heavily reliced U.S. and German WWII military equipment reportedly recovered from the Battle of the Bulge battlefield. The group was procured by an amateur historian while accompanying a veterans’ organization on a tour of the Ardennes battlefield, and we were told that the pieces had been recovered from the area. There is no accompanying paperwork, excavation record, or other provenance confirming the precise recovery locations, however, so the Battle of the Bulge association should be regarded as oral provenance rather than independently documented fact.
The Battle of the Bulge began with the German counteroffensive through the Ardennes on December 16, 1944 and developed into one of the largest and most destructive battles fought by American forces during World War II. Fighting continued across Belgium and Luxembourg into January 1945, leaving large quantities of American and German weapons, ammunition, equipment, and personal gear scattered throughout the battlefield area.
All of the ordnance in this set has been demilitarized according to specifications by the BATF, and makes this set not available for export.

Taken together, this is a compelling mixed group of American and German WWII battlefield relics incorporating equipment used by both sides during the final campaigns in northwest Europe. The BAR and M1 Carbine magazines, German StG 44 magazine with its apparent impact damage, Eihandgranate 39 body, Feldspaten head, canteen, mess-kit section, K98 bayonet scabbard, binocular component, and smaller fittings all exhibit extensive environmental deterioration. Although the stated Battle of the Bulge recovery history cannot be independently documented, the period-correct combination of U.S. and German equipment and the circumstances under which the collection was acquired make this an interesting relic assemblage with strong visual impact and potential for further research.
