Original Item. Only One Available. The HAAG (Hand Anti-Armor Grenade) is a rare example of a Soviet weapon being "reverse-engineered" by the US. It is an improved version of the Soviet RPG-43 (a predecessor of the RKG-3). The XM-78 was produced as an experiment and is therefore quite rare.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are NOT considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is totally inert. NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
The grenade has a blue warhead which is stamped:
INERT WARHEAD ASSY
F/ GRENADE XM78
The warhead unscrews from the shaft and is quite heavy on its own. The shaft appears to be the correct configuration with the spoon and pull ring still attached. When launched, the shaft would expand into its full armed position before detonating.
The grenade measures roughly 11 ¼” long.
A very rare example, the first we have ever had, ready for further research and display.
