Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. In 1973, Barry Dawson built his first knife shop inside a dilapidated barn. Fresh off a stint in Vietnam and flat broke, he built most of his machinery himself out of parts scavenged from the local landfill. What he didn't know, he learned, and what didn't exist yet, he invented.
This is a great example of an early Dawson knife, with a great rope handle and a "Jet Pilot" Air Force Survival Knife Scabbard.
The knife is stamped on the ricasso:
DAWSON
U.S.A.
And on the other side with 98, the serial number. The grip is made from rope that could be used in an emergency. The original scabbard is that of a "Jet Pilot" Air Force Survival Knife. Similar rope is wrapped around the throat and the whetstone is still intact in its pouch.
