  • Original Items: One-of-a-kind set. Sergeant Garage A. Cassidy served during the United States Civil War with the 61st Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment and later transferred to the Veterans Reserve. He was on guard patrol in Washington, DC on the night of President Lincoln's assassination on April 15th, 1865. This is a collection of original documents, photographs and ephemera from his service and life after the war. Of particular note is is 1865 dated discharge and a hand written letter from his commanding officer Captain Sam McKeever which references their patrol duty on the night of Lincoln's assignation.
