Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine Federal issue Pattern 1861 leather cartridge box for .58 caliber ammunition. Features an original National Guard "NG" brass plate to the flap.

Outer flap has surface wear and is stiff. Interior flap is in good condition but stiff. The inside of the otuer flap appears be be named and ink stamped Co. B. 3 RG. Neither tin is present but the implement pocket retains it shape but the reverse stitching has popped. Reverse of the box is missing both belt loops.

Overall condition is a bit rough but the NG plate and interior ink stamping make this something worthy of any Civil War Collection.
