Original U.S. Civil War Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber with Scabbard by Mansfield and Lamb

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a really nice example of the principal cavalry saber used in the U.S. Civil War of 1860-1865. It has brass mounts with leather sword grip bound in brass wire.

The curved blade is marked as being inspected by G.G.S. who was a Union Government Inspector named GEORGE G. SANDERS and was stationed at the "Mansfield & Lamb" sword factory during the period of hostilities in 1861-1862. The markings are faint but can be seen on the blade's riccasso.

The saber comes with the original all steel curved scabbard complete with both mounting rings. Offered in very fine collector's condition, original Civil War Cavalry Swords are getting harder and harder to find every year!
