Original U.S. Civil War Federal Model 1864 Cartridge Box - Watertown Arsenal
- Original Item: Only One Available. Nice condition Civil War leather cartridge box. Faintly embossed US on outer flap. The outer surfaces of the box exhibit expected wear and crazing from age and use. Stamped at bottom center of the flap is WATERTOWN ARSENAL 1864. The box still has the closure tab and brass finial at the bottom. One roller buckle are present on the bottom of the box. The reverse of the box has both belt and shoulder strap loops still intact. These were designed so the box could have been worn on the soldier’s belt or on a sling, whichever the soldier preferred. The inner flap is in fine shape and has both ears. Inside the innermost compartment are both the original tins that held the cartridges in place.
