Original Item: Only One Available. This is classic Civil War drum canteen is constructed of steel with domed sides that are fixed to a narrow rim. The the usual three brackets to secure the sling have been removed or were never attached. The entire piece is sound and without active rust. A very nice example of a local or state-issued canteen. It measures 7 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches wide. The exterior is embossed with various lettering and numbers and in dark pencil reads: SANTA FEE MILITIA 19th CENTURY.
