Original Item: Only One available. This was intended for keeping a man attached to a running chain, which passed through this iron shackle around the man's ankle to prevent any attempt to escape. The key is primitive and is slide into the mechanism to release the locking bar, so that once the key is removed there is no way to open the shackle.
Measuring 5" across and substantially made from iron, one can only imagine the horrors such a shackle has witnessed. Be it on a Slave Ship, a Plantation, in a Civil War Prisoner of War Camp or maybe a Chain Gang, certainly nothing pleasant. In full working Order ready to display!
