Original U.S. Civil War Era Enfield Type Percussion Musket Half-Stocked for Frontier Use c.1860

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This started life as an ENFIELD Type percussion rifled musket, probably used by the Confederate States in the Civil war and then half stocked for use as self protection or as a hunting gun on the frontier. The barrel measures 25", with an overall length of 41 inches. The bore is about .61 smooth, which was probably bored out from the original .577. At this time the breech plug was replaced with another cap bolster, somewhat primitive in design.

Interestingly on the right side of the butt stock the name FOXY has been spelled out in tiny brass tacks, presumably the name of the owner, or maybe the gun!

From long time storage, offered for you to clean and upgrade then it will be ready to display!
