Original U.S. Civil War Era “Display of Arms” Motif Powder Flask with Cannon & Flags

Item Description

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a stellar embossed copper powder flask manufactured during the Civil War era. This example features a gorgeous motif on one side often referred to as “Stand of Arms” or “Display of Arms”.

The motif features crossed muskets & pistols, a field cannon with cannonballs, swords, and anchors strewn about, with several flags bearing the stars of the US Flag in the background. This is a tremendous motif, the first of this style we have offered. This example still retains some gunpowder, which we have not attempted to pour out. The spout on this example is screwed in with three small screws, but the mouthpiece itself can be screwed out. The spout is still fully functional and in great condition. There is some light denting on the other side of the flask and at the bottom.

The flask measures roughly 7” long and is blank on the other side. A really gorgeous example with great period wear, perfect for any Civil War collection.
