Original Item: Only One Available. This is a remarkable and authentic piece of history - a trade tomahawk that was likely made by a British or American blacksmith during the 18th century. The tomahawk's head is in excellent condition despite some minor pitting, and has a great look. The blade is designed for cutting and chopping, and was likely used for tasks such as felling small trees, building structures and making firewood. The handle of this example is an original remnant of the original shaft of the tomahawk, and still has crude period nails on each side that works to keep the head affixed to the shaft!

The head of the tomahawk measures roughly 4 x 4 x 1½”, with the shaft still roughly 6¼” long. The head of the tomahawk is not tight to the shaft but it cannot be removed, which serves as a testament to its age and construction.

This is a beautiful example of a Revolutionary War era Colonial blacksmith made tomahawk! It cannot be overstated how difficult it is to find one of these with remnants of its original shaft! Comes more than ready for display.
